Anonymity, data deletion & right of reply
A review platform is only as credible as its privacy promises. This page explains — in plain English, not legalese — exactly what we collect, what we never publish, how any reviewer can have their data erased, and how every employer can respond on the record.
Our four standing promises
Identity never leaves our systems
Your verification email is used once, to confirm you actually work (or worked) at the organisation. It is never shown to the employer, never sold, never bundled into a report, and never attached to your scores in any employer-facing view.
Aggregate-only publishing
Employers and the public see category averages, verdicts and anonymised themes. Individual submissions, IP data and raw contact details are restricted at the database level and readable only by our verification team.
Deletion on request, no questions asked
Any reviewer can have their submission permanently erased. We do not ask why, we do not require an account, and we do not retain a shadow copy after deletion.
Every organisation gets a reply
No verdict is published as the final word. Employers can post an official response, correct factual errors, and request a fresh survey cycle to update their score.
What we store — and what we show
Nothing in the right-hand column is ever visible to the organisation being reviewed.
Published publicly
- Category averages across all responses
- Overall score, percentage and verdict
- Number of verified responses in the cycle
- Moderated, anonymised comment themes
- Certificate number, issue date and validity
Never published
- Your name, email address or employee ID
- Your IP address (stored only as a one-way hash for fraud checks)
- Your individual scores or your individual comment attributed to you
- Team, department or role combinations small enough to identify you
- Any data sold, licensed or shared with recruiters or data brokers
Small-sample protection. When a cycle has too few responses to guarantee anonymity, we withhold breakdowns and publish only that the survey is open. A verdict is never issued from a sample that could expose an individual.
How to delete your review
Ask
Write to us from the email address you verified with, or use the Contact form and quote the organisation name and approximate submission date.
We confirm
We match the request to a single submission. We never ask for a reason and never contact your employer about it.
We erase
The submission, its comment and its verification record are permanently deleted within 7 working days, and the organisation's aggregate score is recalculated without it.
Retention. Verification records are kept only for the duration of the survey cycle plus 90 days for fraud investigation, then automatically purged. Aggregated, non-identifiable scores are retained as part of the public record.
Your other rights. You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or object to its processing. We answer every request within 30 days.
Right of reply for employers
A rating is a snapshot, not a sentence. Any organisation on Verified Culture — whether certified or flagged — can put its side on the record, and can change its score by changing the experience of its people.
Publish an official response
Send us a statement of up to 200 words. Once we confirm you represent the organisation, it appears directly on your public profile, next to the verdict, with equal prominence.
Correct factual errors
Wrong industry, outdated headcount, merged entity, wrong logo or website? Tell us and we correct it — usually within two working days.
Flag suspicious submissions
If you believe responses are coordinated, fraudulent or from non-employees, raise a dispute. We re-run domain and duplication checks and remove anything that fails, then re-issue the aggregate.
Request a re-survey
After a cycle closes, request a fresh 90-day survey window. New responses supersede the old aggregate, so a verdict earned during a bad quarter does not follow you forever.
What a reply cannot do. We will not remove a legitimate verdict, reveal who submitted a review, or edit scores in exchange for payment. Certification fees cover badge licensing only — they never influence a score.
